A judge may also order eligible supervised release. Each route depends on the actual order; paying one amount does not settle another hold.

Confirm every release requirement
Use the official lookup, then call county charge and bond information at 404-613-2002 or 404-662-3516. Ask for every case number, the court’s current order, the total due with charges and the kinds of security accepted. Fulton warns that several bond instruments may be needed for one person. Ask whether any separate hold or condition remains before committing funds.
If the person is at a city facility, confirm the custody agency and city or county case first. Atlanta City Detention Center has separate published bond instructions. Do not assume a Fulton County procedure applies merely because the arrest happened inside Fulton County.

Choose the payment or security route
Fulton’s published routes include paying the full cash bond, obtaining approval for qualifying residential property or using a professional bonding company authorized by the Sheriff. Pretrial screening may support a court ordered release route for an eligible person; it does not guarantee release or replace the judge’s decision.
- Cash: confirm the full amount, all charges, accepted payment method and who will be recorded as surety.
- Direct property: ask Bonding Administration about eligibility, documents and where all owners must sign.
- Company bond: verify current Sheriff authorization and obtain the company’s written fee, payment, cosigner and collateral terms.
- A person arranging their own bond from custody should ask jail staff how their funds, signature and documents can be processed. The county pages do not publish a universal method for using money held at booking or commissary funds. Do not assume those accounts can pay a bond.

Prepare the right documents and signatures
Have the person’s full name, booking or SO number, case details and confirmed bond amounts. Ask the receiving desk which current identification and cash bond documents it will accept. For a Fulton direct property bond, the Sheriff lists a warranty or quitclaim deed, current tax bill, current mortgage statement and government picture identification. Every person listed on the deed and current tax bill must attend to sign.
For a company bond, ask the company which signer identification and financial documents it requires, whether remote signing is allowed and where its authorized representative will meet the signer. No universal Fulton company document list or meeting location was verified.
For an online cash bond, ask about cardholder identity, authorized card use and any payer verification before payment. Fulton says the online service records the defendant as surety for the refund, but that statement does not establish that any person’s card will be accepted.

Keep records and confirm acceptance
Keep the court order, itemized receipt, every signed bond or company agreement and any collateral receipt. Check the surety’s name and address before leaving. A provider payment confirmation does not alone establish jail acceptance or physical release. Ask jail staff whether all required instruments and conditions are satisfied, what remains unresolved and which facility will give pickup instructions.

Helping from another state
Fulton’s bond page describes an online cash bond route with a published limit of $2,500 including all surcharges and fees. Its jail page links CashBondOnline. The linked provider website loaded during this review, but Fulton was absent from its Georgia jail selector. Ask the jail for a currently usable, authorized Fulton route and case eligibility before paying. Fulton says online bonds are refundable only to the defendant recorded as surety.
Fulton requires owners to attend for its direct property process. Property in another Georgia county follows that county Sheriff’s preparation process, with the resulting papers delivered sealed to Fulton. Fulton does not publish an equivalent route for property outside Georgia. A company may have its own remote signing process, but no company has been selected by this guide. Confirm permitted signatures, accepted funds and who must attend before traveling or sending documents.

While booking is still underway
You can gather the full name, arresting agency, likely facility, available identification and questions about payment while booking continues. Fulton lists property intake, medical screening, fingerprints, photographs and a warrant check. Processing depends on workload and access to state and national records. Ask staff when the booking record and any release order are ready for a bond to be accepted; do not assume that buying a bond before those steps produces an earlier release.
